What’s a better way to start the year than diving into the warm camaraderie of European research communities, sharing ideas on IoT and 6G — and yes, maybe sneaking in a few local sweets? My January 2025 IEEE ComSoc Distinguished Lecturer Tour (DLT) took me across Spain and Portugal, and it was as intellectually enriching as it was culturally delightful.

The Department of ECE, Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi (IIIT-Delhi) recently conducted a 2-day skill development and training workshop titled “Bridging Digital Divide: Multiple Access Techniques for Aerospace Integrated Networks.” This workshop was sponsored by the SPARC (Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration) Project, an initiative by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, and technically supported by the IEEE Communication Society, Delhi Chapter.
On May 16, 2024, the IEEE Communications Society Thailand Chapter, together with the Thai Quantum Information (Q-Thai) Forum, brought this vision to life with an online celebration of the International Day of Light (IDL) 2024 under the theme “Light in Our Lives.”
The Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Antonine University (UA), the ISACA Lebanon Chapter, the IEEE Communications Society Lebanon Chapter, and the UA IEEE Student Branch organized the Open Day for Cybersecurity (ODCS’25) at the UA Baabda campus. Held on April 4, 2025, this national event attracted over 430 professionals, students, and researchers from institutions across Lebanon, creating a vibrant platform for cybersecurity engagement, education, and innovation.
Telecom 2025 marked another significant milestone in celebrating World Telecommunication and Information Society Day on May 15th. The sixth edition of this flagship event was hosted by the IEEE ComSoc Ecuador Chapter, in collaboration with the IEEE ComSoc Student Chapter of Universidad de las Américas, and took place at UDLAPARK in Quito.
